The University now has 2 National Key Disciplines: Acupuncture & Moxibustion and Tuina and TCM Internal Medicine, 23 Key Disciplines approved by State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM), and 5 Key Disciplines stipulated in Tianjin “12th Five-Year Plan”. It also has 4 affiliated hospitals and 5 teaching hospitals. Among them, the First Affiliated Hospital is a national clinical research base, the National Research Center for acupuncture clinic, the National Acupuncture Clinic Foundation and the demonstrative Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital; The Second Affiliated Hospital is a Research Center of TCM Rare Diseases, specializing in treatment and research on Gynecology and Encephalopathy; Baokang Hospital, TBNA Hospital of TCM and other teaching hospitals have unique fetures in rehabilitation, Orthopedics, Community Health of TCM and Integrative Medicine clinic.
In order to cultivate international medical talents, TUTCM has set up the major: Clinical Medicine of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine for bachelor degree, which is taught in both English and Chinese. With excellent teaching faculties, a clear goal of cultivation, rational teaching arrangements and standard managements, TUTCM guarantees that students can manage the fundamental knowledge and skills of clinical medicine and attaches great importance to students’ clinical practice, aiming at improving their clinical working ability.
The Program for master degree is Acupuncture & Moxibustion and TuinaThe Faculty of the Program in Acupuncture & Moxibustion and Tuina is constituted by 1 academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, 39 professors and 75 associate professors, and it was awarded as the National-level Distinctive Teaching Team in 2008.
The program has an excellent teaching staff with distinctive teaching capabilities and good teaching effects, which is leading in China. At present, 50% teachers can use either English or Japanese to conduct lectures.
as for Advanced Students, it provides special short term program: Acupuncture(For Beginners); Acupuncture(For Advanced Learners); TCM Regimen; Chinese Materia Medica; Medicated Diet; TCM Cosmetology and Weight Loss; Themed Lecture; Orthopedics and Tuina; TCM Therapy; Anatomy; Qigong Medicine; Taichi and Clinical Practice. Besides, it also provides Chinese Language Program of One month, Two months and One Semester.
